Build San Diego Foundation · Leadership

Board of Directors.

For two decades, San Diego construction leaders have volunteered their time and influence to open doors for the next generation of builders. Today they lead a foundation with a renewed mission for all of San Diego County.

Our story

Two decades of building San Diego.

Build San Diego Foundation began as the EGCA Foundation, created by San Diego's engineering and general contractors to invest in the people who build our region. For twenty years it has funded scholarships for students heading into construction careers, backed by the industry it serves.

That steady, volunteer leadership is why the foundation is still here, and still growing. Our board has now ushered in a new era: the Build San Diego Foundation name and a renewed impact mission to build San Diego County's construction workforce from the first classroom workshop to the first paycheck.

Today that mission spans Building Tomorrow™ K-12 outreach, Workforce Bridge Scholarship™ awards, the Construction Field Ready Certificate Program with AGC San Diego Education, county-wide Construction Hiring Fairs, and partnerships with schools, agencies and veterans organizations across the county.
